We, at Visions of Hope Arizona, understand the importance of encouragement and empowerment. It is important that our members take control over the setting of their individual goals, making choices regarding their goals, and are responsible in the maintenance of their own recovery-empowered choices. Encouraging involvement of our members in setting their own goals, choosing among the many opportunities offered, and collaborating with our staff in obtaining those goals is our main objective. Secondarily, by empowering them to meet those goals, it is also a main objective to graduate our members to a higher standard of living, through the acceptance of their individual and personal responsibilities. By doing so, it is our hope and secondary objective to give them the skills they need to further their opportunities in employment and the building of social supportive systems, which will graduate them from our program and allow them to pursue their personal goals and objectives of employment, relationship building, and higher education.
Visions of Hope Arizona concentrates on advocacy for and from our members. Often times our members experience challenges outside the center and need some additional support in obtaining the desired outcome regarding those challenges. Sometimes it is a matter of giving them new perspective and communication techniques. Other times the services they require are more “hands-on”. We may serve as a liaison between the member and their property owner assisting in acquiring a mutually beneficial outcome for the situation at hand. Our peer staff concentrates on common challenges that our members often experience.
